I've been here a few times since they've opened, I don't live here. I do enjoy the food. Reminds me of the delicious food I ate in San Antonio. The staff is friendly and fast servers. The atmosphere is clean and attractive. I hope you enjoy it too.
Updated review. (3/5) Update Winter 2024. The food at this Mexican restaurant is pretty good—much the norm. The employees are exemplary, outstanding. The experience is brought down by the decision to plaster the tables with advertising for local businesses. It’s low-brow and tacky, detracting from the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. If I’m going to be bombarded with ads during my meal, I’d expect a discount on the food as a trade-off.
Heard good things about Casa Romero so we decided to try it out. I had the Pollo Jalisco and my wife had the Burrito Chipotle. Needless to say, we were both impressed. The food and service was great and the atmosphere of the place was cool. They have indoor and outdoor dining also.
Arrive early to beat the dinner rush! After 4:30 it starts to fill up quickly! I haven't found a dish I wasn't impressed with here. But I recommend the Chicken Trio Enchiladas, Barbacoa chimichanga or flautas! The corn cake is delicious and big enough for the table to share. The margaritas are delicious and they even have a marg tower!
One word....... outstanding! I’m a Mexican food lover. Best I have ever had all the way down to the salsa!
A friend and I were in Waterloo yesterday doing some shopping. We were trying to find a place to have lunch and decided to try Casa Romero. Sooo GLAD we did!!! The food was FANTASTIC as was the service!!! I live in St. Louis, I wish it was closer, but willing to make the drive as often as possible! I’m pretty selective with Mexican food and Margaritas. Both were wonderful! Can’t wait to have my family go with me to try it!
Casa is great!! Seems a little more authentic Mexican than others which I love. Not usually a crazy wait when they are busy. The fish tacos and poblano dip are pictured below. 2 of my favorites! I would also include the shrimp street tacos in my favorites! Usually opt for beer but I hear the margaritas are good too. Love this spot!
The food and service were great! My only complain was how loud it was however it was a Friday night and very busy. I just wish that when it is so crowded they would turn the music down just a little so we could hear each other! Everything else was fantastic and we will definitely be back!
